Frequently asked questions
Is this a statutory fire-safety-manager course?
No. The formal fire-safety-manager role was removed when the fire prevention regulation replaced the 2002 regulation from 1 January 2016. Responsibility lies with the owner and the organisation's management. The course covers the knowledge requirement in the fire prevention regulation §12 and the Working Environment Act §3-2.
Does the course cover the physical extinguishing and evacuation drill?
The course covers the knowledge part. The physical extinguishing and evacuation drill with real equipment must be carried out locally at the workplace. We provide a ready-made drill and fire-instruction checklist that the organisation can use to document that the practical drill has been done.
How often must I renew my fire-safety knowledge?
There is no fixed statutory interval for ordinary employees. Regular refresher, preferably yearly together with the local fire drill, is a recommendation and not a legal requirement. Special fire objects have stricter requirements.
Is the certificate valid documentation at an inspection?
The certificate is numbered and QR-verifiable and documents the knowledge part. Together with the local drill checklist it gives a complete record at an inspection from the municipal fire service or DSB, under the fire prevention regulation §10 and the Fire and Explosion Prevention Act §8.
