Frequently asked questions
Are the courses approved by the Labour Inspection Authority?
No, and neither is any other course. There is no public approval scheme for HSE courses like these. The Labour Inspection Authority assesses at an inspection whether the training has been given and is sound. Each course is built on the content requirements of the rules it covers, and every lesson links to the source on lovdata.no. The certificate is numbered, can be verified with a QR code and shows content and legal basis.
How long does it take?
Most courses take 60 to 90 minutes in one sitting. The safety representative courses take longer: the 40-hour course is 18 hours online plus 22 hours of tasks at your own workplace, spread over several weeks, and the shortened course takes about 4 hours. You can pause any time and continue where you left off. No time gates on pages, no requirement to watch videos in real time.
What if I fail?
You can retake the exam at no extra cost. The 70 % pass mark applies. The exam is multiple-choice, so feedback is immediate: you see which questions you failed and which modules they came from. Since you pay only once you pass, failing costs you nothing.
Can my company get an invoice?
Yes. When you pay, choose "business", enter your org number and pay by card. If your company also needs an invoice or EHF against the org number, we arrange it on request through the contact form. If the whole team is taking the course, you can instead buy seats up front with a published volume discount from 5 seats. The price for each course is on the pricing page. Is VAT charged on the course?
No. The courses are exempt from VAT under the Norwegian VAT Act (mval) § 3-5 for educational services. The exemption rests on a real person assisting you, not just automated content. On the courses you pay for after passing the exam, a real person answers subject questions along the way, and this is included in the price. On the 40-hour safety representative course, what you pay for is the course lead assessing your workplace tasks and giving written feedback. The price shown on each course is final.
Who wrote the course?
The content is developed and maintained in-house by HMS Lederkurs, grounded in the Working Environment Act and the Labour Inspection Authority's guidance. Each module links directly to lovdata.no so you can verify every claim yourself. HMS Lederkurs (HEM, org.nr 924 807 342) is the accountable publisher.
What if I want to cancel?
For most courses you pay at the very end, after taking the whole course and passing the exam, so you know exactly what you are paying for. As a consumer you then consent to access to the guided course, with the certificate, being delivered immediately and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is thereby lost (Angrerettloven §22 letters c and n). For the 40-hour safety representative course you buy the assessment of your workplace tasks, and separate rules apply, see the terms. Business purchases are exempt from the withdrawal law either way. Your rights for defects under the Digital Services Act remain.
